Higashi-Shizuoka Station (東静岡駅 Higashi-Shizuoka eki?) is a railway station on the Tōkaidō Main Line of Central Japan Railway Company in Aoi-ku, Shizuoka city, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The station is 177.7 rail kilometers from Tokyo Station.

Station history

Higashi-Shizuoka Station was opened on October 30, 1998 as part of an urban renewal redevelopment of a portion of the former Higashi-Shizuoka Freight Terminal. A large scale convention center next to the train station opened in 1999. These developments were intended to encourage further investment towards the east of Shizuoka city centre.

Higashi-Shizuoka Station has a single island platform serving two tracks, connected to the station building by an overpass with a moving walkway. The station building has automated ticket machines, TOICA automated turnstiles and a manned midori no madoguchi service counter.
